FACILITIES COMMITTEE

MEETING OF FEBRUARY 2, 2005

Present were Committee Members: Mayor Gregg David, Councilman Edward Galasso, Councilman Frederick Soos, Police Chief William Dowd, Borough Clerk Hedy Lipke and George Wittman – Schering-Plough.

The Committee discussed the comparison costs for renovation of the present building and new construction:

1. Estimate of costs for Renovation would be approximately $300 per sq. ft.
2. New Construction would be approximately $200 per sq. ft.

George Wittmann will be sending someone in to talk to Chief Dowd to get an idea of his needs – his “wish list”. This will show if it is possible to do anything with the present building.

Mayor David is getting figures from Paul Parsons regarding buying the land.

George Wittmann will also give an estimate on the cost of new Construction of a police Building based on the footage needed.

Hedy Lipke to get a copy of the tax map for the Cross Street property and also the tax map for the Municipal Building property and give to Hugh Montague (Schering Plough).

Next meeting of the Facilities Committee was scheduled for Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at 7:00 P.M. at Borough Hall.
