Message from William Dowd, Chief of Police

January 15, 2008

With the winter months upon us, I am asking all residents to please remove your vehicles from the street during a snow event. Not only will this make the clearing of your street easier by our DPW, it will also assist the Police Dept., Fire Dept. and Rescue Squad to gain access to an area, if needed for an emergency.

A new Governing Body Administration was transitioned in on January 1st. Our new Mayor, Kathi Fiamingo, has stated that one of her top priorities would be to address the issue of lack of space in Borough Hall. The new Borough Engineer will lead this endeavor and I look anxiously forward to working with him on this project.

Recently, there was a burglary in a Union Twp. pediatrics office where the safe was stolen. This safe contained personal information on many Kenilworth patients which incuded names, addresses, dates of birth, social security numbers and credit card numbers. If you have been notified by this pediatric group that your personal information was stolen, please come to the Kenilworth Police Dept. to report it on a citizens report. Some patients credit has already been comprimised so you are encouraged to place a fraud alert on your credit cards and monitor all of your accounts very closely.

I would like to wish all a very Happy and Healthy New Year !

It's a pleasure to serve as your Chief of Police and if I can be of
assistance to anyone, feel free to contact me at 276-1705 or
wdowd.kpd@kenilworthnj.org. Thank you.

Chief William Dowd
